Great food and nice people

We just moved to Hartwell but I remembered seeing good things about Backstreet BBQ. The Ribs, beans and cole slaw were simply outstanding. The atmosphere is informal, unpretentious and relaxed. The waitresses made us feel at home and the prices are very low when you consider how much you get. If you love BBQ, you MUST visit Backstreet

The chicken was falling off the bone and still moist and the price was very low for the amount of food you are served only down side is they are only open a few days a week

Absolutely love this place! I have to visit every time we come to Hartwell.

The ribs beans and coleslaw was the only thing I would eat again. Food is not bad , price is A+ you wont break the bank coming here like at some other bbq places. It all depends upon what you like.

The bbq is dry to me,but the employees are nice to make up for it

Visiting the area from out of town, we tried Backstreet to get a taste of local BBQ. There was a nice long line for pickup (drive-up service only due to COVID-19), which told us that this was a popular and likely tasty place.We were sorely disappointed with our food. The pork BBQ had no flavor whatsoever, requiring us to drown it in sauce and we still only ate a portion of it. It was supposedly smoked, but we could not taste that either. They also forgot to give us our tea that we had ordered, but that was only a minor disappointment compared to the tasteless meat.

For me, it was ok. The hour drive wasn't worth it. Seating was close to other tables.they do have a drive through that seemed to be very busy the entire time i was there.great service

Amazing food!!! Amazing service!!! And the price is low. Honestly for the amount of food you get and how good it is I felt they should be charging more than they do. They also have a drive thru.

Great place in Hartwell! Fast , affordable and Yummy! Ribs falling off the bones.... tasty sauce. and my favorite the slaw!

Nothing special about the food here. For barbeque I will drive to Anderson and the Pompous Pig.Service is friendly

Not the best BBQ place we ever ate but due to the good prices I order takeout from here in a pinch to feed my family on a night I don't have time to cook...You never really know how your food is going to be. Sometimes the pork is dry, sometimes its not..sometimes the slaw is good, but sometimes its not sweet enough. I guess it depends who is making it...I usually get me a chicken half for myself because I'm not a big pork fan. Tonight I got a pound of meat, a quart of stew and a quart of slaw to feed the fam. My chicken half tonight was not edible due to being so very dry! It was like chewing on rubber. Its hit and miss with this place because the chicken is not always like that. I would like to see a little more consistency

Food is always good and staff is always friendly. Can't go wrong stopping here for a quick meal. Meals are competitively priced with McDonald's, but McDonald's wished they served food this good. So......... good food, good service, good prices. Great hometown atmosphere, with good barbecue to match.

Backstreet BBQ is awesome! Ask for the rib sauce for your sandwich. It is the best sweet sauce I have ever had. They will sell it to you by the bottle full and there are two in my refrigerator. You have to try it! The prices are very very reasonable and they give you plenty to eat!!

I was excited to eat here from all the reviews, but very disappointed with the food.the stew had too much of a corn flavor for my liking, the bbq sauce was too watery, and the lady at the window was rude when we asked her about the different cakes they had. We had just moved here and were looking for a nice bbq place close by, but I'll be sticking with the one in toccoa!

I give the food a 5 out of ten. I'm just not a fan of NC style bbq. Clean and friendly staff.

I LOVE the half a BBQ chicken plus cole slaw.

Will be by to settle up about Lindsays brunswick stew ger new father in law picked up on her wedding day. None of us knew until she returned from her honeymoon that she hadn't paid for it! Thank you for being so very generous and sweet to our daughter! Great to live in a small town. We are in Charleston SC next week, but will be in to pay when we return.
